Classic Japanese movies

In this exhibition I made paintings based on DVD covers of Japanese movies from the 1940’, 50’s and 60’s – by such masters as Ozu, Kurosawa and Mizoguchi. It was a new departure for me because it allowed me to introduce imagery into my work, as well as to explore the relationship between painting and cinema.

DVD Paintings are all 40.5 x 30.5cm,  acrylic on canvas

NORIKO Paintings are all 73 x 91cm
