Digital reproductions of paintings cannot replicate the same experience as viewing actual artworks. The implications of this fact led to the initiation of a research project called 'The Digital Documentation of Materiality in Painting.' The project was a collaboration between Daniel Sturgis from the University of the Arts London, and Simon Morley from Dankook University and Woo Jung-Ah from POSTECH in the Republic of Korea. The project was supported by the Economic and Social Research Council Project of the UK (UKRI). An exhibition which was staged as part of the project at the Korea Cultural Centre UK in London between 24th February and 14th April 2023.
